Duneolas is an elite and eclectic team united by our commitment to deliver world-class technology to general practice in Ireland.
Our practice software solution was born out of growing demand from GP practice staff for a modern alternative to dated legacy systems. We believe that practices deserve so much better than what is currently on the market and are determined to deliver not only a superior software solution but also a superior customer relationship. We see practice staff as critical partners in determining the direction and makeup of our software platform. In our view, a close and collaborative feedback loop between the customer and provider is key to long-term success and is symbiotic in nature. With Duneolas your practice is our passion and we are fully committed to ensuring each and every practice we work with not only survives but thrives.
Most GP software vendors frame themselves as “Built for GPs” or “GP friendly” only to forget their promise as soon as they are established, at Duneolas our commitment to GP practice collaboration is steadfast and for the long term
To prove this we have taken the unusual approach to ensure a closer relationship by making our customer base our primary investor base. That is right the majority of investors in Duneolas are GP practice staff. This creates a greater alignment of incentives and allows Duneolas to take a much longer-term outlook on our offering and customer relationship than say entities owned by private investment firms. We believe that by remaining laser-focused on the needs of our customers and always seeking to improve our offering we will deliver the best practice management solution today and into the future.

What About
the Name?
This is a question we get a lot. Duneolas is a combination of two Irish words Dún(fortress) and Eolas(knowledge). We chose this name to emphasise our Irish roots, long-term commitment to promoting a better Irish healthcare system and our focus on delivering a secure knowledge base for practices and patients. We see Duneolas as the practice’s own fortress of knowledge enabling staff to always have the information they need when they need it while ensuring complete security and compliance

Tony Ryan
CEO
Tony is our fearless company leader and comes from an engineering and business background (UCD Smurfitt & NUIG). He has over a decade of experience leading companies in healthcare in Ireland including most recently as founder and CEO of MedVault Health.
John Manohar
CTO
John is our technical leader with a background in computer science from Trinity Collage Dublin. John has worked across a diverse range of companies from startups to multi billion dollar conglomerates. He brings a wealth of technical knowledge and experience to the table.
Dr Knut Moe
Board Advisory Role
Dr Knut Moe is Managing Partner of Churchtown Family Practice. Prior to studying medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, he studied business and politics in Trinity College Dublin. He holds an MBA from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and has a special interest in healthcare innovation and efficiency in General Practice. He is an Associate Clinical Professor in UCD School of Medicine.
Dr Austin Byrne
Board Advisory Role
Dr Byrne is an established GP Managing Partner and GP Trainer in Tramore, Waterford. He has a keen interest in GP systems and I.T. development and has extensive experience in the design and negotiation of change processes. He was most recently heavily involved at a national level in the design and rollout of Chronic Disease Management Programme.
Dr Paul Ryan
Board Advisory Role
Dr Paul Ryan is both a qualified pharmacist and a GP. He based in Cork City and has a passion for improving the quality of Irish prescribing through local and national roles.Paul has also created multiple popular GP solutions such as GPConsult.ie, PrescriptionRevision and DermaBuddy.
Dr John Flanagan
Co-Chief Medical Officer
Dr John Flanagan studied medicine at Trinity College Dublin and GP training with RCSI. He is a practice partner at Suffolk Street Surgery. John has a keen interest in digital transformation in healthcare to drive efficiencies for both patients and medical teams. He has practical experience working directly on multiple healthcare software projects across the past 5 years.
Dr Mark Hudson
Co-Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Mark Hudson is a graduate of Hull York Medical School, where he pursued a special study in coding and e-health. He is GP Principal at Letterkenny Doctors Surgery and Scheme Director for the Donegal Specialist Training Scheme in General Practice. Dr. Hudson also delivers modules for GP training, focusing on IT systems and information flow.
Dr Colin Kilmartin
Co-Chief Medical Officer
Dr Kilmartin has an exceptional digital health profile with a medical education from UCD, culminating in an MSc in Digital Health and an MBA in Public Health Management. In his career spanning multiple regions (UK, North America and Middle East), Colin has pioneered the use of a wide array of software solutions to positive effect including a period serving as Army doctor for Defence Forces
Aphria Smith
Head of Marketing
Aphria has a background in marketing and psychology from TUD and DBS. She brings a wealth of operational and marketing experience to the team. She has experience working closely with large multinationals as well as startups. She most recently was an important part of MedVault Healths growth in Ireland.
Joe Newell
CSO
Joe is a serial entrepreneur with an engineering and business background. he holds an engineering degree from UCD and an MBA from Wharton Business School. Joe co-founded GPBuddy and has helped build the company into the number-one digital education tool for GPs in Ireland. Joe has also been involved with multiple technology startups (MedCafe, Voxpilot and TherapyHub) in multiple roles for over 15 years.
Slobodan Gajić
Lead Frontend Engineer
Slobodan comes from a strong IT education background in Serbia. As frontend engineer, he is the key to bringing Duneolas technology into the hands of users. He has extensive experience working with startups and also consulting for large companies. He is a recognized profile in the developer community providing esteemed educational content to his colleagues on cutting-edge technologies.
Mihir Kapadia
Data Engineer
Mihir is our data wizard and has an exceptional computer science background with a masters from the University of Southern California (USC). He has worked previously with tech and financial giants like Apple and Pimco. He bring a wealth of data experience and has worked previously on large scale data migration projects involving sensitive datasets.
